Piano / Music Theory
Piano and music theory are taught by Fran Foan. She studied for her music degree at Kings College London where she was also awarded a choral scholarship, and the Royal Academy of Music, following distinctions in Grade 8 piano, singing and grade 5 music theory. She works as a singing and piano teacher in local schools and also runs a successful private practise. She teaches all ages, levels and styles; from classical to jazz and singer songwriting.
Fran has been an excellent tutor to two of my children. She noticed in the very early stage of tutoring my daughter that she was extremely talented musically and encouraged her to move forward with her piano grades and music theory and supported her through this. She has always been professional and reliable and I would recommend her as a tutor of adults and children of any age.

Mother of two pupils at Queen Elizabeth School
After years of “Shall I or shan’t I?”, my children and their other halves bought me singing lessons with Fran. I was so nervous, but she put me at ease straight away. Fran was friendly and chatty, finding out immediately what I wanted out of the lessons. She understood that I would never stand on a stage and sing, it was just to sing to our baby granddaughter and for my pleasure. She was kind, flattering and encouraging. I have recommended her for singing and piano lessons. Thank you Fran!
